Continuously measures Volume Delta and footprint data on ES and MES, tracking who's in control: aggressive buyers or aggressive sellers.
Scans for stacked imbalances across consecutive price levels. When pressure tips decisively to one side, the bot confirms a high-conviction signal and stages the order.
Enters, sets stop and target, trails the position, and exits — every part of the trade handled for you.
Price tells you where the market went. Order flow tells you who pushed it there. These are the signals order flow traders read on a NinjaTrader 8 chart — and the language this strategy is built in.
The difference between volume traded at the ask (aggressive buyers lifting offers) and volume traded at the bid (aggressive sellers hitting bids), measured bar by bar. Positive delta means buyers are paying up; negative delta means sellers are hitting out.
A running total of delta across the session rather than a single bar. It smooths out noise and shows whether buyers or sellers have been in control since the open — useful context for judging whether a move has real participation behind it.
Instead of one volume number per bar, footprint (volumetric) bars break volume down by price level inside the bar and split it bid versus ask. That is what lets you see exactly where in a candle the buying or selling actually happened. The strategy reads footprint data directly, which is why it needs NinjaTrader's Order Flow+ volumetric data.
An imbalance is a price level where one side clearly outweighs the other — commonly a 3:1 or greater ratio between bid and ask volume. Several of those landing on consecutive price levels is a stacked imbalance, and it marks where one side ran the other over. The strategy scans for stacked imbalances as part of its entry logic.
Heavy aggressive volume that fails to move price. Buyers keep lifting the offer, delta climbs, and price goes nowhere — because resting sell limit orders are absorbing everything. Absorption at a level often precedes a reversal away from it.
Price makes a new high but delta does not — or price makes a new low while delta turns up. The move is no longer supported by the aggressive side that started it, which is a classic warning that a trend leg is running out of fuel.
The Trading123 Order Flow Strategy automates this reading. It measures Volume Delta continuously on ES and MES, reads footprint data to see where inside each bar the volume actually traded, and scans for stacked imbalances — then places and manages the trade for you. No chart-watching, no discretionary call in the moment.

Instead of reacting to a single clue, Market Pulse waits for order flow, stacked imbalances, and volume to align. That triple-confirm prints an MP marker and fires the trade — filtering out the fake-outs that trap single-signal systems.
Rithmic connections can freeze — charts lock up while your position stays open. When that happens, chart-managed stops may never fire, leaving you exposed with no way to exit.
The Rithmic Data Feed Watch runs on an independent timer and continuously checks data freshness and connection status while you're in a trade. On a stall, freeze, or disconnect it triggers an Account Flatten at the broker level — orders sent straight through the broker, bypassing the frozen chart entirely.

Order flow is the study of actual buying and selling at each price. Volume Delta measures the difference between aggressive buyers (lifting the ask) and aggressive sellers (hitting the bid) — revealing who's really in control beyond what price alone shows.
It's built for NinjaTrader 8 and designed specifically for the E-mini S&P 500 (ES) and Micro E-mini (MES), where Volume Delta data is deepest and most reliable. You'll need NinjaTrader 8 with a real-time data feed that provides bid/ask volume.
NinjaTrader 8 installed, NinjaTrader's Order Flow+ volumetric data (included with a NinjaTrader Lifetime licence, or available as an add-on subscription), a real-time data feed that supplies tick-level bid/ask volume, and a connected brokerage or SIM account. The Rithmic Data Feed Watch safety system monitors a Rithmic connection specifically. Import the strategy, set your inputs, and you're ready to test or trade.
Yes. The strategy reads footprint (volumetric) data and scans for stacked imbalances, and that data comes from NinjaTrader's Order Flow+ suite. Order Flow+ is included with a NinjaTrader Lifetime licence, or available as an add-on subscription if you lease the platform. Not sure which you have? Check Help then About in NinjaTrader 8, or ask us before you buy.
It's designed for use with evaluation and funded accounts where automated strategies are permitted, and it's compatible with trade copiers so you can run it across multiple accounts at once. Prop firms set their own automation and copier rules, and those rules change — always confirm your firm's current policy before using it.
Instantly. After checkout you get a download with the strategy, Volume Delta indicators, manuals and videos, plus your license details — so you can install and start testing right away.
Yes — and we strongly recommend it. Run the strategy on a simulated (SIM) account in NinjaTrader 8 for at least a few weeks before going live. Trading in SIM lets you learn the settings, see how it behaves across different market conditions, and build confidence with zero financial risk. You can also backtest it against historical data to stress-test it further. Only move to a live account once you're consistently comfortable with how it performs in SIM.
It depends which option you choose. The two-month lease auto-renews every 2 months until you cancel. The lifetime license is a single one-time payment with no renewals ever. Both include free updates for the life of your license.
It's a built-in safety system, included at no extra cost, that runs on an independent timer while you're in a trade. If your Rithmic data feed stalls, freezes, or disconnects, it triggers an Account Flatten at the broker level — closing your position straight through the broker even when the chart is frozen and chart-managed stops can't fire.
Both give you the full Order Flow Strategy — Volume Delta indicators, the Rithmic Data Feed Watch safety system, manuals and videos. The main difference is trading hours: the lease trades the 8:00 AM–12:00 PM ET morning session, while the lifetime license trades all day. The lease is a lower upfront cost that auto-renews every 2 months until you cancel, and your lease payment can be applied toward the lifetime purchase; the lifetime license is a one-time payment you own outright, with free updates and support for life.
